Drive traffic to your site. You need traffic to make it in to-days market place. Competition is very fierce and you need all the help you can get. The more traffic coming to your site, the more popular it is and the more popular, the more customers.

Write Articles.
Article writing is a great way to attract the search engines. If possible, use unique content. If you can write your own, great, but if not, you can hire someone to do it. Submit articles to article directories and linking to your website is another good way to get your name out there.

Exchange Links. Exchange links with directories. There are lots of link directories out there. Some are free, some you have to pay for, but there are plenty out there that only require a reciprocal link to your site. Just write a short description of your site and list key words that best describe it.

How to choose keywords.
If you find the correct keywords and phrases then you will find customers beating a path to your door. Keywords are very important and must be chosen very carefully. Do not use words that are too general and words that are too over used. You need words that connect to your customers, not words and phrases that you consider to be appropriate, but probably words that you may never have thought of. Popularity of a keyword may not necessarily be a good choice, what you require is specific words that describe what you are trying to say.

Directories. Are a collection of websites, usually of a similar category. They are great to find information about a certain subject and also useful finding out what other webmasters are doing. A good directory will help increase link popularity and improve your search engine rankings and page rank.

Which Directories.
You need a directory that is search engine friendly. What exactly does that mean ? These are directories that provide links that are properly managed and human edited. Link farms are not a very good idea, as search engines do not always regard them as relevant. Most directories have categories that best suit your site, if you place your link in the incorrect category, you could be missing out on potential customers.

Expert Help. If you are not that great at building a website and perhaps not all that great at optimizing it, then you should look at getting expert help. There are thousands of programmes and companies willing to supply help. Some are free, some are not, but if you feel you need help, you should get it. There is no point in starting a internet business,  unless it works. Check out the web for help.

The first is natural or organic and the second is pay per click ( ppc ) , this can become very expensive, but it is the way to improve your ranking and traffic quickly.
