MingVase.asia – Antique & Ming Vase Destination
The Ming Dynasty lasted from 1368 until 1644. During this period there were seventeen emperors, starting with Hongwu 1368 – 1398 and ending with Chongzhen 1628 -1644. The longest reigning emperor was Wanli who reigned from 1573 – 1620. The Ming Dynasty was the last native imperial dynasty in Chinese history. Most people relate to the Ming Dynasty for the unique brand of porcelain ware that was all the fashion during that period , it consisted of white porcelain with blue paintings. During the seventeenth century due to expanded trading this porcelain became wildly popular in Europe.
In 2006 a Las Vegas casino executive paid a world record price of us$ 10.1 million for a pear shaped copper-red ming vase in perfect condition, this price set a world record for Ming porcelain. The vase was sold by a Scottish couple who did not know it’s value and were using it as a lamp base and only realized what they had when they saw a similar example in a museum.
It’s highly unlikely you will find a lamp worth $10 million, but have a look at our site and you may find a vase that you like, that does not cost millions of dollars.
