Link Directories

Adding your site to a link directory is a great way to gain a link to your website and you need links to improve your ranking. There are hundreds of these sites around, but you need ones with a pr3 or better to get the best value. A couple of good examples are www.linktrix.com and www.e-bizdirectory.com. Both these sites have thousands of members and this ensures you quite a bit of exposure. Most of these links are not very expensive and lots are free with a reciprocal link.

Websites – Help needed

I am an old dude who has been trying to understand the internet and all it’s secrets for some time now, but I continually run into different problems. I have had no education as far as modern technology goes and I only seem to pick up bits and pieces of information. I would love to be able to build my own website and manage it how I want to, but to me it seems if you have no formal teaching or you are young, then this is very difficult. I don’t want something like you tube, but a businesslike site. Young people are brought up with technology and thus it becomes a very simple task for them.

I have read dozens of articles and looked at hundreds of websites that state “make your own website in 5 minutes” . Usually they are selling a very expensive hosting and will only give you a website ” in 5 minutes” if you sign up with them for a couple of year of hosting.

Buying a website is something else I tried, but “no knowledge required” is not really true. I have also tried buying templates, but this also had me in trouble when I wanted to change or add something.

I find all this very frustrating, but I am going to keep on trying. If anyone out there can help, I would appreciate it.

By the way, to let you know what you are dealing with, I had to get my son show me the correct way to publish this.

Affiliates

I have several adult websites and the other day I received a check in the mail for $550. It came as quite a shock, because I had no idea that I had made this money. My sites all have content thru affiliate programs that I signed up for when I first set up the sites. I have had quite a few payments of $50 to $100 over the years, but nothing like this. It seems that when I first signed up as an affiliate I somehow made the minimum payment $500. When the sites were new I used to check every week, but as time passed I didn’t bother as much, so this is just to let all webmasters know that affiliate programs are a great way to make money.
